How to Shrink Pores on the Face – Nowadays there are more and more problems that occur in our faces. In addition to facial acne, there are several other problems that can make us feel very anxious to cure it and really want to get a beautiful face.
Ladies, do you have a problem with large pores? If so, don’t be discouraged. The size of facial pores does depend on the type of skin. There are two types of pores on the skin, namely those that naturally release oil or sebum and those that release sweat.
1. Using water-based beauty products
Moisturizing products contain a variety of active ingredients, including oils. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends using oil-free products, including water-based makeup.
A person with oily skin will benefit from a product that is high in humectants rather than oils. For information, humectants are moisturizing ingredients found in various skin care products. Honey and urea are a few examples of humectants in skin care products.
Meanwhile, oil-based products contain petrolatum, coconut oil, and other types of oil. They effectively moisturize the skin but may not be suitable for people with oily skin and large pores. Excess oil that collects on the skin can make pores appear larger.
2. Wash your face day and night
Washing your face is the most basic treatment. The AAD recommends washing your face twice a day, or more after sweating a lot or exercising.
The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends washing your face with warm water and gently applying the cleanser with clean fingers. Choose a cleaner that is non-abrasive and does not contain alcohol. Avoid rubbing the skin.
You are also advised to pat your face dry with a clean towel. Washing your face every morning and evening helps to clean oil and dirt from the pores and disguise them.

3. Choose a gel face wash
Gel-based facial cleansers are suitable for oily skin and function to shrink pores. You are also advised to avoid oil or alcohol based cleansers as they can irritate the skin.
Laundry soap that contains moisturizer can also leave residue in the pores and increase oiliness. Meanwhile, gel-based cleansers help clean oil from pores and unclog pores.
4. Doing exfoliating treatment
A person with oily skin should exfoliate once or twice a week to remove dust, dirt, and bacteria that can clog pores.
It’s important not to exfoliate more than twice a week, as this can dry out your skin and make pores more visible.
